More Information About Photography
Photography is the art and practice of making still-life photographs by recording radiation onto a sensitive medium. This is either photographic film, or electronic image sensors that can capture the photo. Most cases of photography use light instead of radiation. If the light is reflected off the objects being photographed, it forms a real image onto a light sensitive plate or film inside the camera. This happens using a timed exposure. This image can then become a visual picture for many purposes.
History of Photography
The 19th century was the first year photography was invented. This new method of capturing images was a better alternative to using paintings or sculptures. While photography is a practical process, it was only in the 1820’s that chemical photography was first developed. Nicephore Niepce created the first photoetching process in 1822. Louis Daguerre also invented a method to quickly take photographs using chalk and silver. This invention was used to take the first photograph of a human being in 1839. Talbot, a man who created negative images, was able to create them in 1840. His print remains the oldest known negative. John Herschel, who used silver halides to create the blueprint, created it in 1819. His discovery enabled pictures to be permanently stored and led to the creation of the first glass negative, in 1839.
Wet plate collodion was a common method of photographing between 1852-1862, just before dry plates were introduced. It consisted of a positive on glass, positive on metal, then the negative which was printed on saltpaper. The 19th century witnessed further advancements in photography. The plates were replaced by film, which is still used today in 1884. Gabriel Lippmann, Nobel Laureate in Physics and inventor of colors, created them in 1908.
Uses of Photography
Photography has attracted many people since its inception. One of the most important uses for photography was to track and study movement in space, animals, or humans. Artists have also taken an interest in photography. They love to capture reality and create art from it. Photographs are also used by the military to store dates and monitor events. Photographs are used by everyday people to capture moments in life and preserve them as entertainment.

Amateur photography refers to photography done for fun and not for profit. Amateur photographers may have the same skills as professionals, but they don’t want to use their images in a professional way. The commercial production of photography is where the photographer is paid for their work and can be used for various purposes. Advertising, fashion, crime scene photography. Still life, museums. food. Editorial, photojournalism. Wedding photography. Other professional portraits. Landscape, paparazzi. Wildlife photography. They are then printed in various outlets, such as newspapers and magazines. Photographers are often compensated for their work.
